What

Los Falcons is a photographic exploration of the turbulent pre- and post- “dictadura” history of Argentina and the Southern Cone using a collection of Ford Falcon photos taken mainly on the streets of Buenos Aires during 2007-’08.

The nearly three decade production run of 500,000 Falcons manufactured in Argentina from 1962 to 1991 has left a now fragile physical legacy on the streets of Buenos Aires that spans periods of both economic boom and bust, punctuated by a brutal eight year dictatorship in the middle.

During location scouting and filming for the Pan American Dreams project in 2007-’08, we encountered Falcons everywhere, often accompanied by stories so fantastical, the entire project sometimes felt like a waking dream cum time capsule.
